Worst day – 109th day of war

Hi,
It is the worst day of war so far (or was it yesterday, when the attack took place), as 21 reserve duty soldiers died in the war in Gaza strip.

It started with an announcement of ten deaths. Whatsapp rumors already talked about 23. Two and a half hours later, a follow-up announcement of the death of 7 more soldiers was published. I hoped it would end with it. But two hours later, there was a post about the unit that first to place were the “disaster in which 21 soldiers lost their lifes”, that set the real number. An hour later, the names of 4 more soldiers were published.

It seemed the soldiers were taking part in a fighting activity to demolish a building and were working with explosives inside it. An RPG, which Hamas terrorists was fired towards them, ignited the explosives, which led to the collapse of the building.

The last highest daily dead count was when an RPG hit a Namar APC, killing 10 Givati soldiers that were inside it. Hamas had mananged to fire the rocket through the open door

It was in the beginning of the ground manuver. My fear back then was that we would have this number as the daily dead count. Dozens of dead soldiers each and every day during this ground manuver.

Lucky us, the daily number is around one dead soldier. Or unlucky us, cause it might have been that if we had the same amount of casualties in a shorter time, there was more pressure to end this war by releasing the hostages and solve the situation in Gaza strip in other means.

The problem with having the worst day so far, is that it till far. Things might getting even worse

Take Care
Gad
