Hague – 97th day of war

Hi,
This is the 2nd day of the South Africa case of genocide against Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in Hague.

Israel does not perform genocide in the Gaza strip. It has two clear targets – returning the hostages held by Hamas and ending Hamas regime in Gaza strip, so what happened on the Black Sabbath will not happen again.

This is exactly what we were raising when protesting against the judicial overhaul months ago. The fear that IDF soldiers and Israel will not be able to defend themselves in international courts when they are serving a country without any juridical criticism.

And as to show how important a strong and independent juridical authority needs to be, the man sent to represent Israel and sit in the ICJ is Aharon Barak. Barak served as the president of Bagatz (Israeli Supreme Court) between 1995 and 2006. As president, he coined the term Constitutional Revolution and believed the court should be active when judging and not following the dry law but what stands behind it and mainly behind the basic laws of Israel. What the juridical overhaul tried to cancel…

Many of the evidence brought by South Africa to court were the words of the members of our government. People keep declearing things such as that Gaza need to erased with an atomic bomb. For us, it is clear that it can not and will not be done, not only from ethical reasons but also from technical reasons (any atomic bomb dropped in Gaza will hurt many Israelis). But our politicians got used to talking without anyone explaining to them they are responsible for their words, so they talk and do not understand the damage they are causing to Israel.

Take Care
Gad
