It seems there is an AK-47 in every house in South Lebanon. And not only an AK-47 assault rifle, but also a full fighting gear every Hezbollah terrorists needs: hand grands, magazines full of bolts, fighting vest and more (helmets, M-16, shotgun, etc…)
We were not looking for those before as we were usually into set the building for demolishing and cleaning them up. There were usually other soldiers entering the houses before us. They might have found those before we got in, and even if not – they would have buried under the concrete slabs.
Those weapons are found in hundreds of Lebanese villages south of the Litani river, and might be even north of it. The villagers on the area might be more Hezbollah warriors than people living there with their families. Getting ready to fight Israel when the time comes (lucky us, they run away).
But there some Hezbollah terrorists still hiding in some of those villages. Probably hungry and thirsty, waiting for an IDF soldier to take with them to the grave. As they have no hope of getting out of there alive.
There also shotguns, as I mentioned. We are not equipped with those to stop the fiber optic drones threatening us. But it seems the people are using those for their original proposal – hunting. There are guns small enough for children to go around and practice or hunt small animals.
