Fighting the wrong fights – 153rd day of war.

Hi,
I feel like fighting the wrong fights. Yes, this is a defense fight we are fighting against Hezbollah along the Lebanon border, but is does not mean we cannot take attack missions in this fight. Just like you have to fight defense fights when your are on offense. And as they say “The best defense is a good offense“.

This is why I think the different fights I am fight, are the wrong fights. Those are fight that take place in the battalion war room, not out on the field. You can say those are offense, but not towards the right enemy. As I fight those fights against my commanders, to let us go out on offensive mission, and not only lay down on infantry ambushes along the border.

My commanders, on the other side are using a tactics called retreating defensive, You probably more familiar with the name stalling (or playing for time, as we say in our soccer matches). As this is the last week of the our this military reserve duty period, they just wish to hold us long enough as to not have time to take the mission out – “Too bad, it is a good plan, we are just out of time. hopefully next time”, they would say.

By the way, it seems the next time will not be so far a way. The empty settlements along the Lebanon border (Like Kibbutz Dan and Qiryat Shmona), are already empty for 5 months, how long can we pull back Israel citizens into Israel to create a Safety belt along the border (to prevent citizens from being killed from Hezbollah attacks)?

At some point, people started asking me what are we planning that I have so much time in it...- wrong fightsThe battalion war room, which should be used to manage the battalion fighting against Hezbollah in this defense fight, but I find myself sitting in it fighting against my commanders.
