Aaronsohn Farm – 2nd Iran war 37th day

Hi,
We have been reading about Aaronsohn Farm in the book Jannaeus got from school about Shara Aaronsohn. It was one of several books about leading women figures in history, and it told the story of one of the leaders of Nili espionage network before WWI.

The farm, also known as the Agricultural Experiment Station in Atlit, located about two kilometers east of the town of Atlit. It was particularly active between 1910 and 1917 and continued to operate on a limited basis afterward. The site mainly served as an agricultural research station, but it was also a base of operations for the Nili espionage network.

The farm itself was founded and the responsibility Shara’s brother, Aharon Aaronsohn which was a leading agronome and scientist and named after him. He was responsible to the discovery of the Crop wild relative of the wheat (the mother of the wheat).

The place now holds a glamping site in an American style summer camp, where we stayed. Glamping is the only way we go camping now days – as Atzva does not agree sleeping in just a tent but one with beds.

And glamping by itself is not enough, when siren alarms from Iranian ballistic missiles are heard several times a day. This place also holds protected areas next to each group of tents, which allows enough place for everybody and close enough to get in time from the pre-alert.
