We just came back from the hike in Wadi Siah and I run over to my friend family Mimouna.
It is a tridional holiday of Moroccon Jewish. I never been to one of those, apparently non of my friends is Moroccon or they just don’t celebrate it 馃槃
But we were invited to one, and it been said “it is an offer you cannot refuse”. 馃惔
And it seems they know what the are talking about: a table loaded n kind of holiday is it, and neither are my friends – we assume it is to celebrate the end of Passover and the fact you can finally eat bread and not only Matza.
Apparently, after digging in Wikipedia, nobody does what is celebrated and why it called Mimouna. It is assumed that that puprose of the holiday is to connect between the Jewish people and Muslim people, that the strict customs of Passover push them further them, and prevent them from hang together. Or even between the Jewish people and themselves, that prevented to eat together during Passover due to different Kosher traditions between one family and the other.
What is the reason for that celebration, I still don’t know – but I love it! 馃檪
