Wadi Siah (“The hikers creek”)

Hi,

Last day of the Passover, and just before Jannaeus enter a new kindergarten (the one he was in was closed), we had a small hike in Wadi Siah (“The hikers creek”) in Haifa.

It was a compromise between us and our northern friends on an hike with water. Most of those are in the north of Israel, which is over an hour drive for us.

After the rainy winter the stream in the creek had a little water what made us all happy 🙂. And also the springs pools near the ruins of the holy site of the Carmelite order and in the Khayat Orchard garden at the end of the hike.

Except for it, the hike is easy – going only down. But was two much for our 2.5 years Jannaeus, but was fine for the 3.5 years old friends’ kid. For Mindal it was OK. After all she was in carry-on all the way.

It isn’t the first time we been here. But in the last time, we were students in the Technion and made it a circular trail: went down all the way in the creek and then up in the staircase at the northern slope of Wadi Siah, Not something we would have done today. We had one car at the end of the trail who gave the drivers a lift up to where we left the rest of the cars.

This creek of Wadi Siah is one of many you can hike in on the slopes of mount Carmel creeks and around Haifa. Hope to do the rest soon

Take care
Gad
