Jerusalem, Israel
Like in New York and London – We also got “Houses from within”. So I took my girlfriend and we went for a walk around town. We saw several places, but the first was the best.
First we got mad for waiting in line, but we got over it: It was rainy so a lot of people from Tel Aviv didn’t come :-). We also remembered how we waited to get in to Gaudi houses in Barcelona – And we thought of ourselves as tourists in Jerusalem 🙂
The is called Jallet Villa, and it was built by Architect Spyro Houri Petasis in 1926 for the Christian Arab businessman, Elias Jallat and his wife Catherine. As it said “It boasts of facades garnished with Armenian tiles that were typical of construction during the British Mandate period in Jerusalem, in addition to red-white Moorish stone decorations on the ornate windows and in different places throughout the house.” It is now housed by Orthodox American that furnished with Art Deco collection.
It has historical value, because Peel Commission set here.
