10th week of protests

Hi,
It is the 10th week of protests against the judicial reform the Bibi government is planning.

The number of protestors keeps raising, but that does not seem to bother the government: 200,000 in Tel-Aviv, 50,000 in Haifa, 10,000 in Beer Sheva and thousands in each: Kfar Saba, Ranana, Hertzlia, and more around the country (around 350,000 in total).

In the meanwhile, it seems like the argument around had managed to cut down the thin wire that somehow managed to tie the different parts of the citizens of Israel together and allow the Jewish– Democrat country to exist.

The main item is refusing to be drafted for military reserve duty. As I wrote not so long ago, not so many people are serving in the military reserve. Only a small minority is doing that hard work. And still, when some of those people refuse to do so, they are blamed for breaking the consensus.

But that is not only for ideological reasons. Many of those that service might be called out to the international court for serving in the West Bank. At the moment, the fact that Israel’s Judicial system is independent is a strong case to prevent a lawsuit against IDF soldiers.

As funny (or said) as it seems most of the government ministers have not even served in the IDF. Either because they are Ultra-Orthodox or they have been too right-wing to be drafted. Those people blame the reserve soldiers for not doing their work…

As I said, those arguments break apart families I have learned long ago not to discuss politics with the Atzva family. It did make me think when one said, “Let’s not talk about it. But they say they will have a dictatorship if the reform will pass. I say we are now living in a dictatorship. ” Said the man, who can get married, and has full civil rights, who set the Jewish laws here. What dictatorship is he talking about?
