Bring Hersh Home – 85th day of war Hi,

Hi,
Hersh Goldberg-Polin is a 23 year old Hapoel Jerusalem fan who was filmed kiddnaped by Hamas from a shelter he ran into on the Music Festival on the Black Sabbath.

His friend Aner kept throwing out the hand granades the terrorists rolled in until one of the exploded and killed him. Hamas terrorists had captured who was left alive in the shelter, including Hersh with his left arm injured. He is now held hostage in Gaza strip along with 128 more hostages including women, kids and babies.

Since that day, the fans of the club have arranged a campaign to release him. Signs with his picture and the slogan Bring Hersh Home were hanged around the city and during games (once the crowd was allowed to join the games that were also suspended during the start of the war).

Home Front Command allowed events and gatherings up to 15,000 on the center so we could go and watch the team play against Hapoel Petah Tikva in a fight against going down.

It was a quiet from war perspective, as it is for last month and a half. But we are still in war, and the hostages are still there. The signs of Bring Them Home Now are around the place, the club fans are wearing shitrs with the slogan and the picture of Hersh on the back, and every couple of minutes are cheering songs are stopped and the all tribune calls out to bring them home now. Below our tribune sits the headquarters of Petah Tikva Home Front Command.

The game, by the way, was good: we won 2:1 with a penalty that should have whistled for us and a goal that was canceled on VR against 10 players. The win helps us climb up from the last place on the league table, where we have been only 4 games ago.

Take Care
Gad
