2 years ago, I woke up on a camping site in Judean desert and took Jannaeus to the toilet with explosions on the background.
Little did I know how our lives would change here in Israel in so many ways.
I did not think about it then, and it but none would imagine we would still pray each morning to the return of our hostages who were kidnapped on October 7th, 2023.
On those past two years, I was half of the time in military reserve duty. As one presented in a video in his Instagram, under thoughts from military reserve duty: I once thought this emergency situation only happens once in a while. And in between, you have regular time to live. But now I see the emergency situation is the new normal time. This your life now.
And this life is just an endless situation of war: sirens of coming ballistic missiles/ drones from Yemen, IDF announcements of fallen soldiers, 12 days of war with Iran, terror attacks, military reserve duty and so on – day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year…
With our ultra-right militaristic government and our prime minister, Bibi, who all seems to use this war for their politic needs only without understanding the meaning of their actions and talks.
Now, with the new talks on an agreement, with Trump pushing it and putting it full weight on it (I do not care if it is only for a Nobel Prize – give him one if that is what needed), I can only hope this nightmare will finally end for all of us and especially for the hostages still held in Gaza strip.
