Hi,
Every weekend, th Hamal Matok is sending over cakes, cookies, and other sweets to soldiers all over Israel.
IDF Soldiers in Gaza strip, Lebanon, Syria, the West bank, and the along the borders of Egypt and Jordan are enjoying some homemade bakery to warm up the weekend they closing in the army (meaning a weekend they in the army, and not going out home).
You do not know what exactly you will get, and that part of the fun, at least for me. But any kind of cake or bakery is delicious and makes you feel a bit at home. Almost every cake or cookie can comes with a letter from who made it. Some are as short as “Thank you”, while others write more and even add the name and number so you can text or call to thank them.
The hoemade cakes and cookies and those personal letters help you realize there are some people out there that think about you and appreciate that fact you are in military reserve duty instead with your family at home.
The name Mahal Matok means the Sweet War Room. Atzva sent me there several times with cakes she baked for them. And in Thursday evening, the place does seem like a war room with dozsns of volunteers who packed the bakeries to be sent to soldiers around Israel.
You are more than welcome to join in and some bakery sweets to soldiers through the Hamal Matok.
Take Care
