We were a bit surprised to see the civilians crossing the border, as they were 4 young girls and one adult. It was bit more surprising as all the other crossings (or attempt to) where directly to Syria, while this one was to Lebanon.
Apparently those are two separate movements in the north.
One is aiming on settling in Lebanon and called Uritsafon (Wake up north). I did wrote to you about back when it was only founded. One it was only a bunch of people with a website and ideology – but not people that trying to cross the border.
While the one aiming on settling on Syria and called Halutzei HaBashan (Pioneers of Bashan). The Bashan region defined as the Quneitra, Daraa and Sweida Governorates of Syria, and portions of eastern Jordan.
Adding to the above the group that wish to resettle in Gaza strip called Nachala, and already managed to cross the border, and you are having a real carnival.
Not only we, as soldiers on the border, need to defend the borders from terrorist – we also need to always look back and see no one is trying to cross the border the other way.
The police, which its job to prevent it, will not sit on border (as this is our job as soldiers) – but need to use hard hand on those civilians. It might hand in a very tragic way one day: someone might get hijacked, hurt or get killed.
