Batzir – Wine harvest

Hi,
We went to pick up some grapes in the vineyard, or to harvest the grapes. And in Hebrew – to have a Batzir in a vineyard in Lachish (near the factory in Qiryat Gat)

They say you can learn a lot from the language about the people. Like the fact the Eskimos has 23 words for snow (although it seems like kind of an, while we have only one, means they live inside snow and can say the difference from one another.

So you can say about Hebrew language, which has special words for grape harvest (Batzir), Olive harvest (Masik) and so on, that it is an agricultural society. Or you can say how olives (and olive oil) and wines are important in the ancient Israelite society.
