It is the last week of summer vacation: We already sent Jannaeus to kindergarten, summer kindergarten and used the grandparents as much as we could…
But the last week of summer vacation is a desperate time. And desperate times need desperate means. In our case it means a vacation abroad.
Well, the paragraphs above aren’t relevant for us. We managed to go through the summer pretty easily. But they are the true for most of the Israeli families, that after 2 months of their kids summer vacation running out of means and ideas of taking care of the kids.
We just decided on Baby-moon before the new baby will come 😀. But it means to book a flight on one of the most requested week of the year. I never flew in this time of the year, but the TV articles during the years managed to frighten me and Atzva.It is the last week of the summer, and all Israel fly abroad. The numbers are around 4 million passengers in Ben Gurion airport during those two months – half of the citizens of Israel!
We took our time on the airport and got there about 4 hours before the flight. We planned to get there 3 and and an half hours before. The extra half hour was bot planned, but the taxi driver was waiting under our window and we were ready so why not? The suggested arrival time to Ben Gurion airport is 3 hours for all the security checks, and on the end of the summer vacation that can only raise. Each summer the press is full of articles on the load on the airport during this time, and we proffered not to be part of it. And we managed not to 😆 The airport was empty and 40 minutes we were already past the passport check – the fastest ever!
