It is an historic day 😀 Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem F.C. won it first cup – the Toto cup for the second league 🏆. It is the first trophy we had ever!
Remember that Katamon is a fan soccer team, and it only exists for 10 years (founded in 2007).
And for that, The trophy is the first one ever for a football fan group in Israel! A great achievement for a team that not long ago played in the fifth league.
Hapoel Ussishkin Tel-Aviv basketball team did it in its first years in the lower league. By the way – this is the team and Katamon were founded in the same year – 2007, and their middle name is the the original location the team played in: Katamon was the neighborhood were Hapoel Jerusalem original field was between 1955 and 1982 when it been demolished (before that the team played in YMCA stadium). And the historic Ussishkin Arena (Opened in 1980 and demolished in 2007).
I hope that we end up as they did – taking over our original team 💪, Hapoel Jerusalem, still hold by businessman Victor Yona and Yosi Sassi. Although I feel like it won’t happen 😕
In Hapoel Tel-Aviv case it only took 3 years to take over the original team, while we are in that situation for over 10 years. And as time passes more and frustration and alienation accumulates by the businessman and the fans that remained with him 😐.
