hey,

It’s Sukkot now, that’s an holiday. meaning everybody went somewhere :-).  Sukka (Or Sukkot in plural) temporary house. We now built it from wood or from steel and fabric. Everybody build one and live in it (eat, drink and sleep) for seven days. If one doesn’t build one he has to be a guest in one. It supposed to remind us that after the Jewish people had left Egypt they had traveled for 40 years in the desert and they leaved in that Sukkot. If you open a map you will see it is a very long time to walk from Egypt to Israel (even it you take everything with you). It took them so long because went they left Egypt they did something bad, so God decided that that generation will not see Israel. So they walk till all the generation died and then went into the country, (Nobody really focus on that side, that they walk and had to live in sukkot because it was a punishment).

So, where did everybody went?

Yoni and Dior went for Zimmer (It’s a German word I think. Zimmer is a small house outside the city that you rent for the weekend). Yoni had birthday 30 that weekend, so I think Dior gave it to her as a birthday present. We ordered her a mobile DVD player so she could see movies while taking the bus (She still spends more than 2 hours a day in buses).  We didn’t get it yet 🙁

Fatma and her friends took a weekend to the Sea of Galilee (We call it Kinneret. It comes from the Hebrew word for violin. The Kinneret really doesn’t look like violin, and even if it does, how they could know it 2000 years ago?).

Ima and Aba went finally to Uzbekistan. We haven’t heard them since they flew, maybe Fatma did :-). Guri, Nathan and I went to dinner with our nanny. She used to take care of all of us (except Fatma) when we were small. And she’s one of Ima’s best friends. In my Cellphone she’s written under “Ima” because if I need Ima I call her, and most of the chances Ima is really with her (Ima doesn’t have a cellphone. We kept buying her but each time someone started to grow up he took it from her). They are such a funny family, no girlfriends were there so they kept laughing on everybody’s’ girlfriends (we were only boys except the mothers and grandmother).

In the middle they started talking on the farms in Facebook, Everybody have one, and they all started to discuss what is the best way to protect the cows from the wolves and if another harvest machine is really necessary 🙂

Hamas have just released a video of the kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit. He’s been kidnapped more than 3 years ago. This country used not to negotiate with terrorists, but now we play into there own hands. They want us to release hundreds of terrorists for him. The problem is that the moment we will do that, they will just kidnap another one – That is what really works for them. I don’t blame the family that want him back – I guess that what I would have done if any member of my family would have kidnapped. But this is just so wrong…

Since Ima and Aba flew I always did something. In first I really thought it’s was because I have things to do (I slept maybe 5 hours a night, and I always had to do something). Only yesterday when I went to see a movie with a friend, I sat down and thought for a while. I realized that I just didn’t want to think that maybe something happened to them, So I filled my day with things and didn’t slept. After I realized that and cry a bit (also because of the Israeli drama we watched – about they life of Israeli Arab. It’s called Ajami. See it if you can), I manage to sleep good and relax for today.

I wanted to take A diving course, but I had to talk with the main diving doctor in the country to allow me to dive. It took too long till I manage to do that so I had to skip on it. I will take an hike instead: see a cave, visit an old city and see an old site – lucky I don’t have to see any doctor for that…. 🙂

Take care
Gad
