Bike Holiday

Hi,

Yom Kippur is here again
Last year we spent some time, Jannaeus and I, out with the small “kids bike”.

But this year Jannaeus went down to playground, saw his friends on bikes and asked for his.
We bought him push bikes for his 2 years birthday, but he barely use it.

Once we brought down his bikes, he got pretty quickly the idea of it and the only way we convinced him to go back home was when we explained he can ride on it also Tomorrow 🙂

Yom Kippur is for atonement, but it is also the Bike Holiday. As no one use his car the roads and street are clear. You can walk on the road, but you can ride wherever you like!

It was never a Bike Holiday for me. Might be because I grow up in Jerusalem. Yes it is a religious city and and ultra religious neighborhood. Yes, we might have got hit in the head with a stone riding on bikes during Yom Kippur, somehow it felt wrong for me to use this day to ride bike.

But there was one Yom Kippur in Jerusalem have to do something we bikes. I remember we were sent out to save Guri, my little brother. He went down with his bikes all the way down from house to the lowest point in the neighborhood. There he hit something and crashed his bikes. We had to climbed all the way up with carrying him ans his bikes to where we lived in the highest point 😁

Take care
Gad
