“We thought it was Xuxa suicide attempt ” said Aba, “We tried to reach you but your cellphone is closed.”
We sent Xuxa to my parents in this round of my reserve duty, like any other round of my reserve duty since October 7th. We couldn’t have sent her to a pension, as she is too old for this.
“We came back home and she and Beni (my parents dog) run to the house balcony to bark on us out of happiness. But as Beni was just barking at us she tried to get to us and jump on us.
She was so happy to see us, and she lost so much weight, she just managed to sneak in between the the bars of the balcony fence bar and jump down.” Aba kept explaining. “She fell on her back and laid there this way for couple of minutes.”
He took a deep breath before he continue “The picture of her just laying there on the back does not leave my head. I was sure she is dead, or at least broke her back. You understand she jumped or fell about 4 meters right?” I agreed.
“I looked at her without breathing until she finally moved and came to us walking and jumped on us for pet. Guri said she is under my responsibility and I should take her to the vet as I did.”
I asked Aba how much I owe him for the vet visit, but he was so relived she was OK and not harm he ask me to leave it aside. He also added a net along the balcony fence from Xuxa jump again. She also added some weight since then and I do hope she cannot do it again…
