Hi,
The last time I have been to Aaronsohn farm, it was far from the American summer camp it is. It was about 24 years ago and we been here in the scouts summer camp.
Back then we did not have any tents at all and we were sleeping on the ground. The idea of having a hiking mattress was common at all. But we did built ourselves some sleeping beds from Senadot (thin Eucalyptus timber poles), that were probably even less comfortable than sleeping on the ground. Some elder ones did managed to bring some old mattresses from our hut, but there were never enough for all.
The showers were a concrete slab, covered with canvas and pipes running on top with faucets. They were cold at night, and we had a song to encourage us to jump in. It was nothing about showers, but cartoon theme about a vetranian taking care of wild animals.
The toilets, were of course chemical toilets, which you would prefer to get into in the morning before the heat would have made the smell impossible.
The dining room was couple of benches made from Senadot, completely uncomfortable. And food was made by us, teenagers that might have done some easy cooking – but nothing more than that.
Now the whole place looks more like an American summer camp, at least how I imagine it from all American movie I watched. A friend that has been with us said it is about the same, but much less crowded.
Take Care

A general view of the place now days
A typical tent with real beds, not on the ground, not on hiking mattresses and not on Senadot bed
The dining room – real food and not teenager burnt rice and sausages
Toilets in the place – not chemical
