It is the first time we are in situation of a canceled flight due to war situation in Israel (kind of a situation we are in since October 7th 2023)
The first time was our planned family, with all the family from my side, to an isolated huts in the mountains of Bulgaria. It was scheduled to the Big Summer Vacation of 2020. That vacation was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic . It was at the start of the pandemic. El Al flights (Israel national flight company) were canceled as all the flight around the world.
Now our planned flight to Greece on Passover was canceled. It was not even in El Al, so the chances of it to be canceled were much higher on the first place.
They probably did not canceled it in the first place because they were all looked on Am Kelavi war that lasted only 12 days. But that war already in the 18th day of war, and there is no responsible adult to close that war.
I was pretty surprised that they waited until we got to 14 days before the first flight to cancel it, and did not canceled in the first of the war (which was about a month before the flight).
I have not been traveled abroad (for a vacation…) since our flight to San Francisco about 5 years ago. It was supposed to be a good far from Israel vacation. To get out of this place and the endless stress of the mouse race. Mouse that are also being bombed endlessly for the past 3 years and for some reason are keeping running…
