Disaster tourism – 621st day of war

Hi,
The ballistic missiles hitting locations are now a point for the disaster tourism in Israel. People are walking through the place the missile had hit couple of days ago to watch the damages

I do not like the idea of people go through those locations to watch what happens. Those are people lives. Visitors are getting into people houses like it is a public place. There was a case one was yelling at visitors this is not a museum but his house.

There are visitors that take advantage of the situation a steal from those ruined houses, from people who might be in the hospital or burying their beloved because of the Iranian missile hit.

In the first hours visitors that only wish to see the location and damages can cause damage: by blocking the roads and preventing emergency services a clear access to the location. Moreover, as security forces have to handle the visitors, less manpower can aid in helping out the injured and the new homeless people or to rescue others.

But I do understand them. I visit in all those locations as part of the my work to estimate the damages to the buildings, and I am looking on the building in a professional eye. But I must say, I am too kind of disaster tourist who wish to visit those places and look on the damaged who caused by the Iranian ballistic missiles.

Take Care
