Cluster ballistic missiles is our new fear in this war. That replace the fear from just ballistic missiles in Am Kelavi war, which replace the fear from drones, which replace the fear from rockets, which replace the fear from suicide bombing, which replace the fear from terrorists. And some how – they all still might happen.
Those cluster ballistic missiles that are launched from Iran are fired as an ordinary ballistic missile. in some point on the way down the warhead spread into twenty to thirty smaller warheads.
It means that if you are got hit, it is not with a 500 kg of explosives but a much smaller amount – about 7 kg of explosive. Even a direct of one of those directly in a protected area will not kill all which is within.
Those kind of ballistic missiles are very hard to intercept. If the interception does not happen on the cluster are within the ballistic missile – you are dealing of dozens of small bombs going down in high velocity.
They are also spread over a large area, up to 10km in diameter – demanding the emergency forces to deal with many smaller locations of falls. They might not explode, leaving many explosives that might exploded later.
Those kind of ballistic missiles bombs have killed 2 construction workers in a construction site in Yehud today. The two have ignored the pre-alert massage, and even when the siren alarm was on, they did not entered the protected space as the other worker. A bomb from a Iranian cluster ballistic missile had hit the site and 2 of the worker were killed.
The assumption is that about half of the Iranian ballistic missiles launched at Israel were cluster ballistic missiles.
