Hetz Shahor (Black Arrow) Monument – 696th day of war

Hi,
Hetz Shahor (meaning Black Arrow in English) monument was our launch point towards the City of Gaza and its surroundings in this military reserve duty round in Gaza strip.

The monument gives a view over Jabalia and the city of Gaza, and it is on the edge of Gaza strip (keep that in mind while visiting here as it may be dangerous).

The site was built to memorize the military legacy of the Reprisal operations of the Paratroopers brigade during the 1950s: from 1953 until Operation Kadesh in 1956. The operations are engraved into stone pillars which describe the operation and a diagram of the battle.

A wall with the name of the fallen soldiers of the brigade in the operation is located on site to memorize their names.

The Armistice Commission building in just near the monument. The building host commissions and representative from Israel and Egypt that discussed issues and the agreement of the cease fire between to two countries from 1948 until 1955.

The place has water, picnic tables, restroom and a small playground for kids.
