Coronavirus politics

Hi,
So not only we don’t have a elected government to deal with the Coronavirus crisis, it seem we don’t have a parliament. And most of the courts have been closed for the last week. This how the Coronavirus politics are in Israel

So first we have a temporary prime minister, which stand on the head of a temporary government. That is how it has been for the past year and and half here in Israel, since no one managed to gather a majority in our Parliament (the Knesset) to have a collation.

I do think Bibi has a major part of it. He has been accused and charged but refuse to get off stage. While others wish to have a Grand coalition, but not with a person being accused and charged on top of it.

But as a temporary prime minister, he allows himself to go over the elected Knesset and pass decisions that I wonder if he could pass even standing on the head of a permanent government. Such as to allow the Shin Bet to locate Coronavirus infected persons by phone without a court.

The Knesset (our parliament), does not function. The committees does not gather to discuss issues. Meaning there is no opposition to the action of the temporary government. The Knesset speaker, Yuli Edelstein, refuse to call the new Knesset to assign new committees, since it is Coronavirus politics time, and it dangerous to gather more than 10 people in a room.

And Yuli Edelstein also refuse to gather the Knesset to choose a new speaker. Yes, he is left as an assign of the last chosen government (he is an MK of the Likud party). Bibi, which is the Likud leader, rules the Knesset as through him.

The temporary Minister of Justice, Amir Ohana, freeze the courts Sunday to Coronavirus politics. It means that the sentence of our temporary prime minister, Byniamin Netanyahu,  could not open. Leaving him only a charged and accused status.

The reason he can do it all – is because will let him. Israel is under state of emergency since its day of independence. But even with emergency law the committees of the Knesset needs to gather. They need to approved surveillance of the citizens smartphones. It or the courts.

But this is the Coronavirus politics – we have one man to decide it all….

Take Care
Gad

All temporary, but decide what chosen prime minister, minister of justice and Knesset speaker would not allow (source: Wikipedia)
