Hi,
Not long after the October 7th terror attacks the plaza outside Tel Aviv Museum of Art, is known as The Hostage square. The families of the hostages of this cruel attack, who were kidnapped to Gaza strip, are gathering here to call for the government for a deal to release them all.
The place is just in front of HaKirya, which help to show the government the hostage are still there . It is also wide enough to consists protests and performance art regularly without closing any road. It is also in front of one of the gates of HaKirya, but not the main one, and not in front of the main office building (which is a disadvantage from protest).
The square is full of art of many kinds calling for the release of the hostages, as well as posters of the hostages and fallen soldiers, yellow ribbons, empty yellow chairs, memorial stickers, tents of the hostages families, a stage for the protests and so on.
The protests here are many times in the same time and parallel to the protests (on Saturday evening) in Begin gate couple of hundreds meters away.
I do not know if they will change its name in the end of this war and keep it. Tel Aviv ha already changed Azrieli junction, where the main protests against the judicial reform took place to the Democracy square. I just hope that will not end the same – that the war will end, all the hostages will come back alive.
Take Care
Gad
A model of a tunnel built on hostages square covered with memorial stickers, to give you the feeling of walking on those Hamas tunnels.
A car burnt from October 7th Terror attack was also placed on the square to show the results of the attack.
