Highest structure in Israel

Hi,
Driving around Tel-Aviv you can see many high buildings raising up, each higher than the other. But the highest structure in Israel is not a building, but the structures of Radar towers of a Dimona Radar Facility located near Dimona.

Both of the towers are 400 meter high, and wire guided to keep their stability. Which necessary for those tall and slender steel structures. They will built in only 3 months, but as they are steel structure that is probably the assembly time on the ground.

Those Radar towers are part of Israel missiles alert system, as part of X-Band radar, the AN/TPY2, and it can detect missiles up to 2,400 kilometers away. We in Israel should probably thank them for the pre-alert we got during the 12 days of war against Iran this year, and also for the alert we got for Houthis ballistic missiles.

The highest building in Israel at the moment is
Beyond towers in Tel-Aviv (308.3 meter high, 2025). The new Azrieli Spiral will pass it (333 meters, 2028).
It passed Azrieli Sarona Tower in Tel-Aviv (238.4 meter high, 2017),
that passed Moshe Aviv Tower in Ramat-Gan (235 meter high, 2001),
which passe Azrieli Center Circular Tower in Tel-Aviv (187 meter high, 1999),
which out most the first skyscraper in Israel, Shalom Meir Tower in Tel-Aviv  (129 meter high, 1965) which held the title of the highest building in Israel for 34 years.

Funny to think about it, but the highest building in Israel in 1965 (Shalom Meir Tower in Tel-Aviv) also held the title of the highest building in the Middle East for 14 years. Until in 1979 by Dubai World Trade Centre in UAE (149 meter high). Just to get things in proportions, the highest building in the Middle East (and also the highest building world) right now is The Burj Khalifa, which is 829.8 meter high.

Take Care
Gad
