Reasonableness law – 88th year of war

Hi,
A long time ago, before the Black Sabbath (October 7th) fell on us like an astroid from the sky, we had the judicial overhaul ruled our life. Yesterday, Bagatz (Israel Supreme Courtrejected one of the basic rules  of this overhaul – the reasonableness law.

The law was supposed to reduce the power of Bagatz to reject laws set by our parliament (the Knesset) based on how reasonable it is. Can a convicted politician (which stole money from the minister he was its head) go back to be a minister? To me, it does not seem reasonable, but for the government Bibi standing on top of it, it is completely reasonable.

The right-wing politicians, of course, blamed Bagatz on breaking down the unity of the nation. For keep working, and doing its work as part of Israel democracy, even when we are at war. Not a word was said while the government and the Knesset, the part of Israel democracy did its work and passed the budget law*.

And if you want an action that breaks down the unity in the nation, is this budget that was passed. 10% of it is coalition money, going specific to the voters of the government: mainly Ultra-Orthodox autonomy and settlers in the west bank*

It is a good decision in the right direction. A small victory against Bibi coup and the try to cancel the Israel democracy. A feeling that all the evenings and nights we spent on Kaplan an on Ayalon Highway did made a change in the country we live in.

This is not over, and neither is the war on Gaza strip. The war will last as Hamas still holds hostages.

Take Care
Gad
