Light light rail shelter stations – 620th day of war

Hi,
Tel Aviv Light rail shelter stations are now used as shelters against Iran ballistic missiles launched since the beginning of Am KeLavi operation.

Like London Underground system during The Blitz on World War II, and Kyiv metro nowadays in the war against Russia – those stations fit to be used as a place to stay on during the nights with endless bombings.

Unlike the old shelters, Tel Aviv Light railway stations have AC toilets, and they are big enough for each family to find her corner (some even bring a tent to sleep in for some privacy).

We do not go there. As much as it is a great protected area to stay in, we prefer our own private MAMAD (a protected area for an apartment), which is a room built to stand everything but a direct hit.

The idea of using those stations as  shelters was clear from the beginning of the design. This way those stations are equipped with heavy metal doors and room for emergency staff and equipment in it. I guess nobody would think we will use them so quickly.
