Well I don’t have a favorite national team to cheer on Russia 2018 World cup, but I do have favorite score for each game. That’s what happens when your favorite team didn’t qualified for his world cup (nor for the one before, or before that, or before… or since the world cup in Mexico in 1970).
But I do gamble. Not for high amounts, mostly for the fun: 20 NIS in the factory I work in (on the best and worst team by pulling a name from an hat), 50 NIS with the workers from my home office (by filling up excel sheets on the score on each game) and the bet we have with the friends from the Technion on a steak in a restaurant (we use an app and filling up a score fro each game).
The bet with the guys (and a girl that lead) from work – real feels like watching games with them. Everybody response on each shoot and goal, cursing and disappointing from the scores.
The App gives me up to date goals, and gives me alert on when the game starts. Because I watch the games via the internet (on Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation – Kan), it is a little bit late. So when I have a push massage form the App, I know in advance that this attack will end in a goal. Very useful at work, or when I watch something else with Atzva.
For now it seems I gonna lost the bet to the friends, and have to pay a steak for our friend (he usually wins, and we look on it as a chance to sit down together in a fancy restaurant :-). The one to workers in my home office I will probably also lose – the leader has about twice the points that I have. But for the bet on the wining and losing teams I have some chance: Saudi Arabia won’t be the worst team (Panama already is), But England might win Russia 2018 World cup. Go England!
