Yellow vest protest

Hi,

I didn’t wrote you about the protests (our yellow vest protest) against the raising prices that managed to get nice results. I didn’t joined them and it was finished.

It may have ended that quickly because the fear of 2011 social protest (here and here). Osem company that declared her prices raising, after sitting down with Kahlon Finance Ministry, pull back it price raising. The electricity price will probably rise less than it was supposed to raise.

But is seems the real reason this yellow vest protest ended so quickly was for our elections are getting close (end of 2019). And from that week – even more close – April 2019. Bibi will probably be our next PM, none is threaten him. He already broke Ben-Gurion record of holding the PM position for the longest time. If the elections were taken on May 2019, he would have also break the record holding it the longest period of time straight. All I can hope for is a government that focus more on the social and economic and less on the Palestinians issues.

Hard to see how this one happen. It is easy to motivate the crowd to vote for him once you explain it that the elections are about “The life itself and not about the life quality.” (although Alexis Carrel might think the other way).
I hope we do manage to move the direction of this elections campaign to those social and economic.
Unlike the last elections, this time I will consider the above as an achievement 🙂

Take care
Gad
